Trust God No Matter What

Sometimes life does not go as you had planned. Some days bring unexpected heartbreak. Some people let you down and hurt you. Things happen that are not fair. Life is hard. We are sure to experience sad times, hard times and times that we simply do not know what to do. Why are we surprised? The Bible tells us over and over and over again that we are sure to experience trials and tribulation. But still – we are uncomfortable and want things better ASAP! There is an answer for us when we find ourselves here. So what is the answer? The answer is simple. The answer is profound. We are to trust God no matter what. No matter what. No. Matter. What.

Oh I know, it sounds so simple. It is easy for us to say when we are not in the midst of a crisis. But when the crisis arises there is so much noise, so much advice, so many feelings, so much distraction, so many decisions, and so much fear. Worry, fear and distress are not from God. They are tools of the enemy and they enslave us. Think about it. They really do. We become a prisoner trapped in our own private Hell. We worry. We second guess. We contemplate and we fear. We become a slave to fear.

So, how do we learn to trust God no matter what? Trust means “to commit oneself fully to”. So, if we are to trust God then we must commit our self to Him. It may take us verbalizing that over and over again. God, I commit myself to you. I will trust You no matter what, Lord. This trust thing can be learned. We can do this. We can learn to trust God no matter what. Psalm 25:4-5 says,

> “Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.”

We can trust God no matter what because He is trustworthy!
In 2 Timothy 2:12 we read that even “if we are faithless, He remains faithful”. He loves us more than we can comprehend. He created us. He is with us. He wants to comfort us and guide us. He wants us to experience His peace. We only have to choose to trust Him. We can learn to trust Him. We can believe, accept and build on the fact that we can trust Him no matter what. Oh yes, no matter what!

Here are some scriptures about trusting God. You may want to print them and post them all around you – your bathroom mirror, car dashboard, refrigerator, computer, and etc.

> “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.” Isaiah 26:3-4

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of the drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God.” Isaiah 43:2-3a

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1-2

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Today, I am praying for those of you who desperately need to trust God in the midst of your storm. He is faithful and will see you through. He is trustworthy. He will use this time for good in your life. (Romans 8:28) He will strengthen you and draw you a little closer to Him. I pray that you will feel His presence today.
