Why Is It Important To Voice Out Your Own Opinion

How often do you put forth your opinion without a second thought, without the fear of being judged, without the fear of being ridiculed? Not usually right?

Because that’s how most of us are brought up. We really don’t have an opinion on many things, we forget to stand out of the crowd, we follow the pre-set rules and notions, and everything that steers us away from breaking stereotypes.

Leave alone stereotypes, we often tend to put down our opinions that ring in the same rhythm with others. Because standing out of the crowd is too overwhelming for some of us.

Surprisingly, voicing opinions is also seen as hesitation among leaders.

But my friend, how long are you going to live the life of other pre-set rules? When will your life be built on your opinions of how it should be lived?

Why Is Voicing Your Opinion Important?

It is important to have an opinion; to know your mind and heart out before trying to understand other people.

It is an integral and important part of self-development and building your confidence levels.

What Does It Mean To Be Opinionated?
Being opinionated helps you build authority and share your perspective with others. Instead of just nodding your head to others’ opinions, voicing and expressing your opinion can define your own identity.

Having an opinion shows that you have the passion and skill to keep your thoughts on the table.

Why Is Voicing Your Opinion Important?

Here are the three main factors that highlight why is it important to have your own opinion.

1. Bring Out Your Inner Confidence
Have you always been someone, who likes to sit on the extreme corner, in the last row of the audience so that you remain almost invisible?

Have you been that someone who doesn’t like to take part in a conversation because you just cannot bring the words out of your mouth and give them a voice?

But your thoughts and opinions need a voice, today or tomorrow. And it is a slow process of building self-confidence.
Talk about your thoughts. Don’t fear being judged and ridiculed, you have the right to have an opinion, to reach a conclusion about any and every trivial issue and the world will not collapse because of it.

It is when you jump into the conversation and try to defend it; you bring out your confidence. You also get to learn, a wide range of things about which you certainly did not have an idea till you opened at the table of discussion

2. Be Aware of your own thoughts
Your thoughts need an outlet. You cannot bottle them up and save it for a drought day. Your ideas and understanding, your opinions in short about anything is one part of the story, one angle of perception.

But how far that understanding is fruitful, or any scope to further it can only happen when you put them down for others to know. You will not always be factually correct.

You may still have a long list of things to learn, to broaden your understanding. And this can happen when you let others understand what is in your mind and initiate a conversation, discussion, or debate.

It is then when you yourself will know your own thoughts and opinions about a particular event, subject, or situation.

It is when you start discussing with people and try to defend your opinion you will realize how deep your opinions are rooted, something that you don’t realize about yourself too often even in broad daylight.

3. Open Your Way To New Experiences
When your life is mundane, the 9-5 routine is the same for ages how will you ever have an opinion on anything.

It is when challenges are thrown at you. It is when the roads take a turn and hit a bump, it is when you explore the untraveled path, it is when you go out and live in a different city, merge in a different culture.

You can voice out your opinions when you don’t take the same route to home and instead take a different road, you start to see the new things, your thought process opens up to new experiences, and each experience will give you a piece of learning, a piece of understanding of not just the surrounding but about your own self too.

Concluding thoughts,
Having an opinion is sensible, but trying to get someone forcibly into a deadlock and agreeing to your point is pathetic and downright wrong.

That is where you draw the line and excuse yourself from being insensitive. Just because you put forth your opinion strongly doesn’t give you the right to force someone to abandon their thoughts about the same.

Being passionate about your opinions is fine, but at the same time, you have to be sensible enough to respect other opinions too.

There is a difference between being opinionated and being informed, get the drift.

You can have your opinion and use it to understand things better and not to discriminate or make others feel inferior. Knowledge is sharing and there is no competition involved of who knows the best. Share this article and comment below your opinions which you are proud of.
