I believe that you support Ukraine a lot. However, you may wonder why there is so much aid that we get? Read this post through and do not hesitate to open the links added.

First of all, it has been guaranteed by the UK, the US and the RF that our independence and territory should remain inviolable in accordance with the Memorandum on security assurances in connection with Ukraine’s accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (or Budapest Memorandum as it is called more often – page 168). Therefore, it is a statutory obligation of the aforementioned states at least to support us during our fight with a terrorist state of the RF. Besides, it is a cornerstone of the world’s international order. In case we fail, the whole world is under the threat.

Secondly, Ukrainians have been fighting for global peace as no other nation. Ukrainians were on the frontlines of WW2 and lost at least 8 million people. Ukrainians have liberated the Auschwitz. Ukrainian have been taking part in the peacekeeping missions around the world and saved thousands of lives. For example, bravery and integrity of our warriors helped saving the village of Žepa in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It has happened after the massacre in Srebrenica and nobody believed that Žepa could be saved. No one except our military mission. And they did it. You can read more here (google translate won’t be enough to embrace it but please try it). Ukraine has helped to save civilians outside of the official UN missions as well. Back in 1993 Ukrainian armed forces were the only ones who responded to the open request from the Georgian president to save their civilians trapped high in the mountains. Notwithstanding heavy shelling from Russian-Abkhazian troops and extreme weather, risking their own lives, our soldiers rescued more than 7 thousand people fleeing the war. More here. Again, you’ll need online translation but it’s worth it.

Thirdly, even at war Ukraine provides food to the ones in need. Can you imagine it? Ships of grain prepared as humanitarian aid for Africa leave our ports in the immensely threatening and risky conditions, on the verge of Russian attacks and under the threat of the consent withdrawal from Russian side. As Ukrainians we do really know what Russian “promise” means. Still, our ships leave the port with so much needed grain.

Fourthly, we do not stand aside. We are not the ones who enjoys all the humanitarian and other aid. We fight, we work under shelling and during power outages, we pay taxes, we volunteer, we help each other, and we donate. We crowdsource that much that even the Guardian writes about that.

And finally, we are grateful to everyone who helps! We thank you for donating? We thank you for voting for candidates who support Ukraine! We thank you for accommodating and hiring! We thank you every help you provide!

We are fighters. We are warriors. We protect our country, we protect freedom, we protect the global order. And we do need your help. Keep on supporting.
