Eve Barlow Was Banned From Pal Amber Heards Court Case With Johnny Depp
Journalist Eve Barlow was ordered to leave and banned from returning to the court where Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s defamation trial was taking place.
Eve Barlow, who is an LA-based music journalist, is a close friend of Amber Heard. She was a vocal supporter of her throughout and following the trial.
Page Six reported at the time the former NME deputy editor was ‘dramatically’ thrown out of the courtroom for texting and tweeting in the front row, which is usually reserved only for legal counsel.

“She was tweeting live from my courtroom… and I know the deputies took her out because she was texting,” Judge Penney S Azcarate said at the time, per Page Six.
“That’s against the court order. Ms. Barlow is not coming back into the courtroom during this trial.”
Barlow alleged a witness for Depp’s camp, Gina Deuters, had been compromised by seeing footage of the trial, writes Newsweek.
Sources allegedly said Barlow brought up a social media post from Deuters, claiming it was a recent post from the current trial.
As it turns out, the post in question was actually shared during Depp’s 2021 trial against The Sun newspaper. However, Deuters admitted she had seen clips of the trial online prior to giving testimony, writes The Independent. She was therefore dismissed from the courtroom and her testimony was struck from the record.
Depp’s lawyers later pushed a motion to have Barlow banned from trial, which the judge agreed to.

EXPERTS SUPPORT AMBER HEARD
More recently, Barlow commented on an open letter signed by more than 130 organizations, academics and experts in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault in support of Amber.
The letter was signed by the likes of Gloria Steinem. It claimed the “ongoing online harassment” of Heard and her supporters was “fueled by disinformation, misogyny, biphobia, and a monetized social media environment where a woman’s allegations of domestic violence and sexual assault were mocked for entertainment.”
Eve Barlow spoke about the letter in an Instagram post. She wrote: “Today I woke up to see that over 130 organizations, academics and experts in the field of domestic violence and sexual assault signed an open letter in support of Amber.
“It’s a comfort that is hard to put into words. Thank you. To all the female survivors, you are so loved and so important.”
